Snowboarding Zone - Moonlight Basin, Montana:

Riders Guide - Moonlight Basin is a completely exhilarating Montana resort with a total of 7 lifts, comprising of 1 Surface Lift, 1 Double Chair, 1 Triple Chair, 3 Quad Chairs and 1 Hi-Speed Six that take you up to 76 trails where you can snowboard on their longest run of 14,780 feet atop 405 inches of powder. Their trails are rated 23% for Beginners, 41% for Intermediates, and 36% for Advanced.

Parks and Pipes - Moonlight Basin's has one terrain park, the Zero Gravity Park, and it's a really fun one. The park is located on the Runaway trail and has a huge number of features, including boxes, rollers, rails, beams, tables, and some fairly moderate hits. Zero Gravity Park is generally an intermediate terrain park, but experts could use it to brush up on their basics, and the beginners could choose some of the smaller features to train on.

Out of Bounds - Montana is arguably the most spectacular winter state in the country. There is no end to what you can do outdoors when the white stuff flies, from exciting extreme outdoor sports such as rock and ice climbing, ice skating, jeeping and off-road driving, horseback riding, snowcatting, sledding, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling, all the way to the more relaxing pursuits of hot air ballooning and fishing. And what would a trip to Montana be without checking out the magnificent selection of National Parks such as the world-famous Yellowstone National Park that stretches across Montana, Idaho and Wyoming?

Hangout & Hookup - Timbers Bar & Lounge is close to the Moonlight Basin slopes and is a decent après ski location, but you should realize that most of the hot après ski action happens on the other side of the mountain. Fortunately that's only a mile away. Big Sky's Mountain Village is where the action gets really hot, starting with the après ski and continuing through the long, crystal clear nights. The Big Sky Big Four for raucous fun and ear-smashing music are Dante's Inferno, The Alpine Lounge, The Bambu Bar and The Black Bear Bar. It may sound like an old movie by the California Governor, but the Crazy Austrian Show at Chet's Bar in the Huntley Lodge is a must see, and then you can drink the memories away at Chet's happy hour prices. Head down to the Meadow Village if you want to play some billiards, darts and poker, as The Allgoods Bar serves everything up with refreshing brews. Down in the canyon you'll find more games at Buck's T-4 Game Room, and the roadhouse western bars The Half Moon Saloon and The Corral.

The Deal - Moonlight Basin Resort is a mile from the Big Sky Resort and about 50 miles south of Bozeman and north of West Yellowstone on Montana Hwy. 191. Fly into Bozeman with Delta, Horizon Air, United Express, Northwest or Big Sky Airlines. You might want to rent a car as shuttles to either Moonlight Basin Resort or the nearby Big Sky Resort are rare and very expensive when you finally do find them.
